The fictional town of Amberley is named in honor of a lovely Suffolk village of honey-colored stone cottages. I had the pleasure of visiting Amberley soon after its 12th Century castle was purchased by the Cummings family. They restored the site so lovingly that our stay was simply magical. Our room contained a private staircase that led to the battlements above.
